Abstract

Principal lithologic features of a part of Upper Cretaceous rocks of Avala mountain are described in the article. Four superimposed units, different in lithology, are individualized. Lower part of the geologic column is made up of clastics, overlain by a senes of dominantly sandy limestones. Upper levels of the senes consist of sandstones, siltstones and shales, topped with calcaremtes, marlstones, and marly limestones.
