Abstract

Of a sea regression in the early Pannonian age was known earlier from the southem Pannonian margin. Micropaleontological analysis of the association fossil foraminifers and ostracods indicated a break in sedimentation between the Lower Sarmatian and Upper Pannonian. Complete Lower Pannonian and basal Upper Pannonian are missing. Besides microfauna, malacofauna also was used in the stratigraphical interpretations.
