Abstract

On the basis of mineral and chemical rock compositions, applying current criteria, genetic and geotectonic types are determined for the granitoid pluton of Željin (Yugoslavia). The pluton, dominantly determined of quartz diorite and tonalite, generally falls by most criteria into type I granitoids, formed, depending on author's terminology, from deep, or subcrustal magma. However, rocks of granodiorite and granite composition (with secondary K-feldspar) acquire, according to certain properties, the character of S-granitoids. Geotectonically, the pluton belongs to granitoids of volcanic arcs and post-collision zones.
