Abstract

The origin of the Pb, Zn and Cu distribution in the weathering zone of the polymetalic deposit Babe is from two population of minerals:

a) secondary minerals, formed by the transformation of primary minerals during the weathering process,

b) relics of primary minerals: galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite.

The relationship between the distributions of these population suggest a model for galena sphalerite and dial copy rite behavior in the weathering process.
